(Detroit, MI)  --  Denise Ilitch has reportedly become the White House's preferred Democratic nominee for Michigan's gubernatorial race.  The "Wall Street Journal" reports that political officials have discussed the possibility of running this year with Ilitch.  She is an elected University of Michigan Regent.  Meanwhile, the Web site, Politico, quotes Congressman Bart Stupak as saying he is quote, "seriously looking at" his chances for the Democratic nomination.  Stupak represents the Upper Peninsula and part of lower Northern Michigan.
