KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Ann Arbor businessman Rick Snyder says running for Governor was his wife’s idea. He says he was happy making new companies, but he says many of the same techniques can be applied to Government.
He brought his “Reinvent Michigan Tour” to Kalamazoo yesterday and packed the big dining room at the Fetzer Center. He says the rest of the state needs to be more like Kalamazoo, which has diversified and made a lot of good moves. He says we have gone through two economic revolutions in Michigan and are now passing through to a third, but still governing like we are in the second.
He says part of it is redesigning the institutions and the other part is feeling better about ourselves and he wants to revamp the state’s business taxes again. Right now Snyder’s self-financed campaign has brought his poll numbers up to double digits, but he still trails Mike Cox and Peter Hoekstra by some distance
