(Minneapolis, MN) -- "FoxSports.com" is reporting that the New England Patriots are in talks with the Minnesota Vikings about a potential trade involving wide receiver Randy Moss. The report states the two teams are in serious trade talks and are "very close to a deal" so Moss could head back to the club that drafted him in the first round in 1998. A league source told "Profootballtalk.com" on Tuesday that the deal is being held up because Moss would have to sign an extension with Minnesota, and contract talks have not even started.
Moss spent the first seven years of his career with the Vikes and now he may get an opportunity to play with Brett Favre [[ FARV ]] in a possible future Hall of Fame connection. Not only that, but if Moss is traded to the Vikings he could get a chance to play the Patriots in Foxboro on October 31st. The 33-year-old Moss holds the NFL single season touchdown reception record with 23, set in 2007, his first year with the Patriots. He has 935 career catches for 14,604 yards with 151 touchdowns in 189 games. After playing his first seven years with the Vikings, Moss played two years with the Raiders before joining the Patriots.
