WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Negotiators trying to craft a budget deal to keep the government open beyond Friday night failed to reach a deal in late-night talks after a meeting with President Barack Obama, Republican and Democratic aides said.
Democrats said the two sides remained at odds over proposed birth control restrictions in the package, while Republicans said they differed over how much to cut from current spending levels.
