JUNEAU, WI (WTAQ) -If you think it’s okay to drink beer while driving a lawn tractor on a Wisconsin roadway, you’d be wrong.
A 73-year-old man near Fox Lake is facing his fifth OWI offense.
Residents in the Dodge County town of Fox Lake called the sheriff’s department recently, after seeing the man drink alcohol while driving his lawn tractor on a town road. They said his behavior got more erratic over the course of a week.
Dodge County Sheriff Todd Nehls said it’s illegal to use any motorized vehicle or implement on a Wisconsin roadway while intoxicated – and that does not include just cars, trucks, and motorcycles.
The man’s most recent drunk driving conviction was in 2001. He was also convicted twice in 1997, and once in 1991.
