COVERT (WKZO) -- The Palisades Nuclear Power plant back at full capacity after an unusual event took out one of its cooling towers. On January eighth, it went down to 55 percent power when some electrical equipment related to the cooling towers failed.
As a precaution, the plant's power was reduced while workers conducted repairs and investigated the cause of the incident. Representatives at the Covert nuclear facility say that the unit went back up to full power on Sunday, although it remains unclear what was behind the failure. They also say the public was never at risk.
