UNDATED (WSAU) A change in federal regulations will allow smallWisconsinmeat producers to ship their products across state lines. Some still aren't, because they're not clear on what the new rules mean. Others are ready to try expanding their business.
The new federal guidelines are considered a boon toWisconsinbecause our state has more small meat producers than any other... and some specialty products like bratwurst and sausage are in demand elsewhere.
Some producers say they're worried about complying with other federal regulations. The state agriculture department says it will help those who want to expand.
