WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday the United States and China had made progress in candid Washington talks that touched on both economic disputes and nagging irritants such as Beijing's human rights record.

"The United States and China have to be honest about our differences, and address them firmly and forthrightly," Clinton said in remarks at the end of the two-day annual meeting between U.S. and Chinese officials.
