KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Thursday Republican frontrunner Herman Cain became the first presidential candidate to visit Kalamazoo this election cycle, and he could be the first of many as it looks like Michigan will be a player in next year’s presidential election.  In the state for Wednesday night’s debate in Rochester, Cain hinted in his opening statement, at the media gauntlet he has been running because of the sexual harassment allegations.

Cain told the enthusiastic crowd of about four-hundred that he was on his way to retirement until he saw the state of the nation and felt compelled to run.  He spoke for about 20 minutes,  and did not stop for questions from the media before climbing back aboard his bus and heading to his next stop in Grand Rapids.
