HARRISBURG, PA (WKZO) -- Former Penn State defensive coordinatorJerry Sandusky has requested that the jury selected for his trial come from Centre County, the community where he lives.

Sandusky's lawyer, Joe Amendola, filed court documents today opposing a request by the state to bring in out-of-county jurors. Amendola cited  "pervasive media coverage" as the reason that jurors selected outside of the county may be persuaded against his client. The documents also suggested a delay in the trial may be necessary in order to deal with the intensity of this case.

The 68-year old former coach is being charged with 52 counts of child-sexual abuse against 10 young boys over a 15-year span. He continues to maintain his innocence.
