LANSING (WKZO) -- Support for Republican presidential hopeful Rick Santorum is eroding in Michigan in a new poll.

The Public Policy Polling survey shows Mitt Romney is now four points behind the former Pennsylvania senator as the Michigan primary looms.  That's down from a 15-point lead for Santorum last week.  Former Massachusetts Governor Romney has 33-percent support in the race, compared to 37 percent for Santorum.

Santorum is popular with groups that include Protestants, union members, evangelical Christians and Tea Partiers.  Romney's support is coming from women, senior citizens, moderates and Catholics.  Michigan's primary takes place next week.
