KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The number of new COVID-19 cases in Michigan has plateaued and deaths are starting to flatten, too, according to information released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Thursday. Hospitalizations have also continued to decline over the last several weeks.
The report said confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Michigan have risen to 544,311 as of Thursday, including 14,053 deaths.
Thursday’s update includes 2,165 new cases and 148 additional deaths.
The michigan.gov/coronavirus website reported an additional five deaths for Kalamazoo County Thursday, bringing the total to 256. There were another 26 cases reported, bringing that total to 12,267 since data began being compiled last March.
