KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — In celebration of its 150th birthday this October, the Kalamazoo Public Library (KPL) is asking for its visitors and patrons to submit stories of personal testimony.
In a statement released last week, library staff invited residents to submit photos and stories of the library locations for consideration. Those that are selected will be a part of the 150th Anniversary Collection.
Any resident who has their material selected will be contacted to confirm permission of use.
A statement from KPL staff reads as follows:
“Kalamazoo Public Library has been an important source for information and a pillar of the community for generations.
Do you have a special memory or a fun story about your family visiting the library? How has Kalamazoo Public Library impacted your life? Do you have photos of the library buildings or events?
Celebrate Kalamazoo Public Library’s 150th Anniversary in October 2022 by sharing your library story.”
Those who are interested can use an online form provided by the library to submit photos and stories. Residents can contact the library if help is needed to need scan older photos, snapshots, documents or home movies.
