HAZELTON, PA (WKZO AM/FM) — Investigators in Calhoun County have confirmed they have substantial new information connected to the 2005 disappearance of Ashley Parlier of Battle Creek. Detectives say a suspect in two Pennsylvania murder cases, that also involved missing persons, is now a person of interest in the cold case.
43-year-old Harold Haulman III was arrested near Hazleton, Pennsylvania on Friday. Detectives say he lived in the Battle Creek area between 2002 and 2009 and it is also believed that he knew Ashley. Calhoun County investigators are hoping to interview anyone with information about the nature of their relationship.
Parlier’s sister Ashley Campen spoke to WWMT saying it’s a relief to finally get some answers but there is still more she hopes to learn.
“It’s just nice to have the answers finally. You know, the name and the face. I would like to hear what happened. I’d love to know why, but I don’t think I will get that.”
Detectives updated the case back in March when a tip led them to search a wooded area in Newton Township. Nothing was discovered then.
Parlier walked out of her Urbandale home in June 2005 following an argument with her parents and has never been seen since.
