HOWARD TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County investigators say drugs and alcohol were likely factors in a single-vehicle crash late Wednesday evening.
Sheriff’s deputies responded to the intersection of M-60 and Yankee St in Howard Township at around 11:45. 43-year-old Michael Maleski of Dowagiac drove off the roadway and then rolled his vehicle before it came to a rest on its side.
Fire officials had to extricate Maleski from the vehicle. He was taken to an Indiana hospital and his current condition is not reported.
The crash remains under investigation. The Howard Township Fire Department, SMCAS Ambulance, and Pokagon Tribal Police Department all assisted at the scene.
