COLON, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – 24 hours after going missing, police found the body of an Indiana man in the waters of Sturgeon Lake in St. Joseph County Sunday.
Authorities say the body of Nathaneil Hochstedler was found in about 10 feet of water around 4:15 p.m. Sunday after a five hour search Saturday, and seven hour search Sunday.
Colon Police Chief Mark Brinkert told WWMT-TV that the man had been tubing around 4:00 p.m. Saturday when he fell off and went into the water. The south end of the lake, including the boat launch area, were closed off to the public Sunday because of the rescue effort.
