PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Portage Parks & Recreation will close out the 2021 Summer Concert Series on Thursday, August 19 with a drive-in style concert featuring Al Hight & M6 West at Ramona Park from 7 – 9 p.m.
Parking opens at 5 p.m. and is first come, first served.
The Curry in a Hurry food truck will be on-site serving concessions starting at 5:30 p.m.
City officials provided the following statement about the concert –
“After decades in the music industry, rhythm and blues artist Al Hight brought together the best talent and resources in the area to form the group known as the M6 West band (named after a highway in Grand Rapids).
Enjoy this concert from your car, or bring a chair or blanket. Don’t forget to leave a little room for busting a move!”
Thanks to a sponsorship by the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, the concert is free and open to the public. No ticket or registration is required to attend.
Ramona Park is located at 8600 South Sprinkle Road.
However, in the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the Portage Central High School Auditorium, which is located at 8135 South Westnedge Avenue.
