ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Residents of Allegan County are being asked to complete a health needs survey.
The survey comes by way of a collaboration between Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital, the Allegan County Health Department, Allegan County United Way, and partners from the Allegan County Multi-Agency Collaborative Council and the Healthy Allegan County Coalition.
The survey is free and confidential and is said to take between 10 and 20 minutes to complete.
Allegan County community members aged 18 years and older will have the opportunity to give input on local health-related needs and concerns.
The survey is available through Qualtrics, an online survey platform.
This survey will be available for Allegan County community members now through March 1, 2022.
All responses are confidential and will be included in an aggregate report that provides an overview of community responses.
Health officials will use the information recorded to:
- Understand community needs when accessing health care and healthy living
- Determine priority needs to focus on for the next three years
- Understand the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on a community level
“It is extremely important for us to hear from the community on what they think the local health-related needs are,” says Robert Mach, FACHE, Administrator at Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital and Ascension Borgess-Pipp Hospital. “Community feedback is vital in our efforts to accurately assess the health needs of the community.”
The Allegan County Community Health Survey will be a primary data source that will contribute to the Allegan County Community Needs Assessment (CNA).
Previous CNAs have helped guide goals, objectives, and action steps developed in Community Health Improvement Plans.
“This survey allows the voices of our community to be heard regarding health needs of the community,” Allegan County Health Officer Angelique Joynes added. “When we understand what barriers our community faces to a healthy living, we can work together to address and overcome those barriers.”
The survey is open to all Allegan County community members aged 18 and older and can be accessed here.
