KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Bronson Healthcare is planning what they call a Healing Steps Forward Virtual Vigil in honor and remembrance of all those impacted by COVID-19.
In the nearly two years since the pandemic reached our communities, Bronson Healthcare officials say many people have experienced anxiety, loss, grief and trauma. They say the vigil is a chance for their staff to come together, along with the community, to grieve, provide support and move forward on a path to healing.
“We know that for many of our staff and community members impacted by the COVID-19 virus, these have been some of the most challenging months of their careers and lives,” says Bill Manns, president and CEO of Bronson Healthcare. “Being together can provide a path to healing mentally and emotionally. We hope this vigil will allow people the opportunity to make meaningful steps on that healing journey.”
The vigil will be held Tuesday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend may log on by visiting bronsonvirtualvigil.com.
People are encouraged to visit the site anytime from now through the vigil to light a virtual candle and share a message. Some of the messages will be shared during the live vigil.
The vigil will include the live lighting of three candles: one in remembrance of those who have died; one for those who are grieving or experiencing pain or worry; and one to honor those who have cared for others with kindness and compassion. In addition to the lighting ceremony, there will be a poem, music, a video and thoughts shared by staff and community members.
