KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — While a lot of businesses, schools, and government offices across Southwest Michigan were closed due to the weather, a Kalamazoo business opened it’s doors for the first time in nearly 9 months.
The Hanger Bar and Grill at 4301 West Main reopened it’s doors on Wednesday, February 2, at 3 p.m. to those willing to brave the weather and driving conditions.
The business was damaged back on May 14th in 2021 when a chimney of a wood stove started a fire on the roof. According to Kalamazoo Township Firefighters who helped put out the fire, everyone was evacuated safely and there were no injuries.
A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page said that firefighters were able to “save so much and the most important parts of our beloved lil bar.”
The Hanger Bar and Grill is open for both dine-in and Takeout 11 a.m. until 2 a.m. Friday through Wednesday, and closed on Thursday.
