KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Black History Museum, a new nonprofit historic museum organization, is seeking volunteers to serve on its advisory board.
Museum officials say individuals should have experience in black history and culture, business, finance, nonprofit management, real estate and development, public relations, government, grant writing, or religion.
Applicants are encouraged to submit a resume and one-page cover letter explaining why they are interested in serving on the board. All submissions should be mailed to Kalamazoo Black History Museum, P.O. Box 2632, Kalamazoo, Michigan 49003. A total of 15 positions will be filled by March 31.
The Kalamazoo Black History Museum is a nonprofit corporation established to preserve and teach the history of African Americans locally and around the United States.
A $30 million fundraising effort is underway to bring the museum to downtown Kalamazoo.
