KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Kalamazoo Valley Community College is getting set to celebrate a unique media literacy exhibit at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum on Tuesday, May 24.
According to a release from the museum, the exhibit, “Wonder Media: Ask the Questions!”, which opened on April 9, is believed to be the first one of its kind in the country, providing a fun and informative way to explore the skills necessary to spot false information from both printed and online sources.
The museum itself is recognizing the opening of the exhibit with a reception on Tuesday, May 24, from 3 until 5 p.m. at 230 North Rose Street in downtown Kalamazoo.
Special guests to include Kalamazoo Valley Community College President L. Marshall Washington, and Western Michigan Communications Professor Sue Ellen Christian.
The exhibit encourages visitors to engage in critical thinking about news and media literacy topics by interacting with 14 hands-on activity stations housed on the museum’s first and second floors.
Tuesday’s reception is free and open to the public.
