PLAINWELL MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Plainwell Public Safety officers arrested a man Wednesday after he was reported to have pointed a gun at another person near two Plainwell Community School buildings.
The suspect, a 24 year old Plainwell resident, was located near W. Bridge St. and S. Sunset St., at around 2:45 pm.
That location is near both Plainwell High School and Plainwell Middle School.
Public Safety authorities say that school officials were notified of the situation, but it was resolved before any buildings were locked down.
At one point, the man approached officers with the gun at his side, but was disarmed without incident.
A search of his house found parts that could be used to build a semi-automatic handgun.
The man faces charges of felonious assault, and several counts of resisting and obstructing officers.
