ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO-AM/FM) – It’s Christmas in April for some non-profit organizations that serve Allegan County.
The Allegan County Community Foundation on Monday announced that a total of 42 entities will share over $215,000 in 2023 Legacy Grant awards. The determination as to what groups and how much each will receive was made by a ACCF Distribution Committee that meets annually to review all of the requests for these funds.
“Being a part of the process of the Legacy Grant Awards through the ACCF is a great honor. It is a real eye opener in that it shows we live in a community of people that have a genuine interest for the social, physical and mental well-being of their fellow citizens as evidenced by the grant applications submitted. There is a great financial need by service and nonprofit organizations to assist in the betterment of the lives of those they serve and the ACCF grant process is a huge contributor to helping meet that need. This in turn improves the quality of life for so many residents of Allegan County.” – Jim Sellman, ACCF Distribution Committee member.
The ACCF Scholarship Committee this month will review applications, and today, the foundation is seeking donations for the Fennville, Saugatuck and Otsego libraries on this National Library Giving Day.
