BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 14-year-old Battle Creek teen accused of killing a 17-year-old Battle Creek Central High School senior back in February may undergo a second evaluation to see if he is competent to stand trial.
According to Calhoun County Prosecutor David Gilbert, the 14-year-old, Justice Chimner was found competent to stand trial at a hearing on April 28, but his attorneys have now asked for a new competency evaluation.
He is charged with one count of felony murder, two counts of felony firearm and one count of carjacking in connection to the death of 17-year-old Jack Snyder.
The high school senior was found next to his car around 12:10 a.m. on February 17th. Authorities say first responders tried to help Snyder who died at the scene.
