KALAMAZOO MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A workhorse bomber during World War II is headed to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo.
The B-17G known as the “Yankee Lady” will make an appearance at the Air Zoo on Friday, August 13th.
The plane, called a Flying Fortress, was known for its ability to fly extended missions over enemy territory during the war.
The Yankee Lady is one of only 9 B-17s still airworthy; none of those planes saw combat time.
More information on the plane’s visit and how to book an air adventure ride during its time here can be found at www.yankeeairmuseum.org/fly/
