BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – Community Action Agency South Central Michigan CEO Michelle Williamson has announced that she will be resigning from that position, but will be staying with the agency.
Williamson has been with Community Action since 2005 and has served as the CEO since 2013.
In a news release Wednesday she said, “The last two years have been challenging for everyone, both mentally and physically, and unfortunately, my family and I have had our share of challenges that brings me to the decision that it is time to step down and focus more time to meet these needs. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue to provide value to this agency in another role. I truly love our mission and believe wholeheartedly in the service we provide.
The board has named Courtney Iobe as Interim CEO and Williamson says the board will not be pursuing an external search for a CEO. Iobe will start her new role May 1, 2022. She has worked with Community Action for 11 years in various roles, most recently as the Director of Development.
Community Action Agency of South Central Michigan serves residents of Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Kalamazoo, and St. Joseph Counties.
Tim Reese, Board Chair, states “while we are sad to see Michelle Williamson step down after all of the great things she has done for the agency, the board feels confident in appointing Courtney Iobe as Interim CEO. She has a great understanding of the communities and programs and we are looking forward to working with her into the future.”
“Community Action provides such great care and services to the communities we serve. I am dedicated to our mission and am excited for the opportunity to continue leading the agency forward in this new role” said Iobe.
