NEWBERG TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Cass County Deputies are investigating a single vehicle fatal crash that took place on Saturday, April 30.
It happened at 4:02 p.m. on M-60 near Timberlane Drive in Newburg Township.
Authorities say the driver of the vehicle, 77-year-old Roger Wyman of Three Rivers, left the roadway, striking a tree and overturning. Wyman was ejected in the crash and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Wyman’s wife, 57-year-old Tina Wyman was a passenger in the car and was transported to Three Rivers Hospital for treatment.
The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and alcohol or drugs are not believed to be factors in the accident.
The passenger was wearing her seatbelt at the time.
The crash remains under investigation.
Newberg Township Fire/Ambulance and Porter SEPSA assisted deputies at the scene.
