KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — City of Kalamazoo voters can now take advantage of a second location of the City Clerk’s Office to register to vote or request and return absentee ballots.
The branch office will be available through the November 8 Gubernatorial Election and is able to assist all city voters with the same election services as the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, at 241 West South Street.
The branch office will also have the same hours as the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, including several days of extended and weekend hours:
- Regular Office Hours: Monday through Friday — 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Monday, October 24 — 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Saturday, October 29 — 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Sunday, October 30 — 10 a.m. tp 4 p.m.
- Friday, November 4 — 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday, November 5 — 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Monday, November 7 — 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 8 (Election Day) — 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Voters may register to vote, update their voter registration, or request and return absentee ballots at either location.
The City Clerk’s Offices can only assist voters who live in the City of Kalamazoo.
Voters in Kalamazoo Township or any surrounding jurisdictions should contact their local clerk for assistance.
Absentee ballots may also be returned by mail (return postage is provided), or to any of the five official absent voter ballot drop boxes through 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, November 8.

- City Hall, located behind the building at the corner of Lovell St and St Johns Pl
- The Douglass Community Association, 1000 W Paterson St
- Eastside Neighborhood Association, 1301 E Main St
- City of Kalamazoo Stockbridge Offices, 415 E Stockbridge Ave
- Kalamazoo Public Safety Station 7, 2331 Parkview Ave
Drop boxes are secure and checked daily. They are under video surveillance for additional security.
Voters are encouraged to return their ballots early, especially if they are returning them by mail. All absentee ballots must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office or an official absent voter ballot drop box by 8 p.m. on Election Day to be counted. Voters can verify their ballot has been received at michigan.gov/vote.
In-person voting will be available in all precincts from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day. Voters who plan to vote in person at their polling location should verify they are registered and confirm their polling location by visiting michigan.gov/vote.
Voters are also reminded of the following upcoming deadlines related to the November 8 Election:
- Monday, October 24 is the last day to register to vote online or by mail. Starting Tuesday, October 25, City voters must register in person at one of the City Clerk’s Office locations and provide proof of residency.
- Friday, November 4 is the last day to submit a request for an absentee ballot by mail.
- Monday, November 7 is the last day absentee ballots can be requested in person. Voters may request one until 4 p.m. at either location of the City Clerk’s Office. Absentee ballots are not available on Election Day unless a voter is registering to vote or updating their registration.
- Tuesday, November 8 is Election Day, and all absentee ballots must be returned to a location of the City Clerk’s Office, or an official absent voter ballot drop box by 8 p.m. to be counted. City voters can register or update their registration until 8 p.m. on Election Day by visiting either location of the City Clerk’s Office.
