KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo has announced the Arts Fund of Greater Kalamazoo Round 1 grant recipients.
Nine grants totaling $40,000 were awarded by the Council.
Those receiving grants were: Wellspring/Cori Wells Dancers; Kalamazoo Bach Festival; Kalamazoo Poetry Festival; Crescendo Music Academy; Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus; The Gilmore Keyboard Festival; Suzuki Music Academy; and the Kalamazoo Book Arts Center.
“The Arts Fund of Kalamazoo County grant program has historically been very competitive, and this round was no different. Since this grant program is funded through an endowment, the amount we can award is fixed from year to year,” said Kristen Chesak, Executive Director at the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, adding “there are so many worthy projects in our community, and we are always trying to find creative ways to assist in funding the vast depth and breadth of artistic experiences in our community.”
There is a Round 2 for the Arts Fund of Kalamazoo County. The application will be accepted starting December 15, 2022. The deadline for application is February 17, 2023.
