ALLEN PARK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Lions are losing one of their team captains to a season-ending injury.
Safety Tracy Walker III confirmed on social media that he suffered a torn Achilles and will miss the rest of this season.
Walker suffered the injury in the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Vikings and was carted off the field.
The 27-year-old was named a captain on defense after starting 15 games for Detroit last season and posting a career-best 108 tackles.
Detroit will host the Seattle Seahawks Sunday.
