KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Monday, the Kalamazoo Youth Development Network (KYD Network) announced an event to help celebrate Community Learning Hubs, and the public is invited.
Officials say that over the past year, through the support of local foundations, 14 Community Learning Hubs served hundreds of k-12 students who attend Kalamazoo Public Schools (KPS).
Officials say that, in addition to providing healthy food and enrichment programming, these hubs are staffed by trained Youth Development Advocates who provide support to youth so that they can fully engage in their virtual classrooms.
KYD Network will host the event Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Mayor’s Riverfront Park, which is located at 251 Mills Street. The event will take place from 1 to 4:00 p.m.
Attractions will include a DJ, yard games, a bounce house, snacks and more.
Community Learning Hubs included the following:
- Prevention Works
- New Genesis, Inc.
- Urban Zone
- YMCA
- Mt. Zion Baptist Church
- Trenches Community Church
- Centerpoint Church
